General Information

Mechanical Engineering is the oldest and the most extensive engineering branch that provides education and research on the design, development, production planning and maintenance of all kinds of mechanical systems and energy conversion systems.

Samsun University Mechanical Engineering Department was established in 2018 within the Faculty of Engineering and will start accepting undergraduate students for the first time this year for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has the vision of being a pioneer and graduates preferred department that provides undergraduate and graduate education at national and international level in line with the engineering needs of our country and the world, conducts up-to-date scientific research, contributes to the literature and technological developments.

Mechanical Engineering Department, with its education-related programs, faculty members and laboratory facilities, represents our university, province and country in the best way, can define and solve complex engineering problems, have analytical thinking ability, design and analyze thermal and mechanical systems. It is a department that has the mission of raising individuals who can have production techniques applied, have a sense of professional and ethical responsibility, work in harmony with their teammates, are self-confident, entrepreneurial, researching, open to technological developments, beneficial to their country and humanity.

Graduates of Our Department

• Working in national and/or international institutions and organizations that require mechanical engineering education,
• Developing projects that will produce solutions by identifying the problems in the environment,
• Taking part in research-development (R&D) and product-development (P&D) projects in the industry,
• Creating new business areas with an entrepreneurial approach and contributing to the development of the industry by working in priority areas,
• Conducting scientific research in national and/or international research institutions and institutes , is intended.
